OUR MEDICAL SUPPORT INITIATIVES

We believe in supporting the medical community in its continued quest to provide the best possible care to their patients. Whether it is student-oriented workshops or consultations with trained professionals, MAC Georgia's expert staff of occupational therapists is ready to support where needed.

PARTNERSHIPS

TBILISI HEALTH PALACE

MAC Georgia and Health Palace are partnering in a series of hands-on classes for medical and rehabilitation students from Tbilisi Medical University. The pilot program consists of twelve workshops emphasizing practical application. Such hands-on clinical training by MAC and Health Palace staff let students experience personally the purpose and benefits of rehabilitation within the continuum of in-patient care.

Workshops by MAC's OTs include: Occupational Therapy; Pressure sores; Transfers; Posture and Positioning; Mobility in Chair, Wheelchair, and Bed using Sheets; Sensory Stimulation and Using Sensory Integration Elements; and Adaptive Devices.

JO ANN MEDICAL CENTER

For more than three years, MAC Georgia has worked in partnership with the Jo Ann Medical Center to strengthen its overall pediatric care. Offering weekly consultations, MAC supports the clinic's doctors, psychologists, and nursing staff with child feeding needs and strategies. They work closely with both medical staff and families to implement interventions such as simple oral stimulations, proper positioning, and the incorporation of adaptive technology to encourage the initiation of oral feeding.

COLLABORATIONS
